How to Wash a Printed Hoodie So the Graphic Lasts

Redlined Essential Hoodie care guide

A good heavyweight hoodie should last years. Most prints don't die from wear — they die in the washing machine and dryer. Here's how to look after yours.

Washing

  • Turn it inside out. This protects the print from rubbing against other clothes and the drum.
  • Wash cold (30°C or below). Heat is the number one enemy of prints and fleece.
  • Use a gentle cycle and wash with similar colours.
  • Go easy on detergent and skip bleach. Fabric softener can build up on fleece and dull prints, so use it sparingly or not at all.
  • Don't overload the machine — heavy fleece needs room to move.

Drying

  • Air-dry where possible. Lay flat or hang on a thick hanger out of direct harsh sun to avoid stretching and fading.
  • If you must use a dryer, keep it on low heat and remove it while slightly damp.

Ironing & storage

  • Never iron directly on the print. If needed, iron inside out on low.
  • Fold rather than hang long-term — heavyweight hoodies can stretch at the shoulders on a hanger.

Why it matters

Look after it and the fleece stays soft, the oversized shape holds, and the graphic stays sharp. Got a problem with an item on arrival? Faulty items are covered under Australian Consumer Law — contact us and we'll sort it.
